The brass marking found on the receiver and dustcover behind the ejection port is normal. The rifle design is military and no concern was placed on brass retrieval for reloading. The empty case is violently thrown from the rifle in cycling. This leaves the mark and usually damages the spent case. Gas adjustment and buffers might ease or eliminate the marks created by brass deflection.
