Imbel Receiver w/ Imbel Kit
|

| This rifle was assembled with an Imbel receiver and Imbel
contract military surplus parts. The parts were roughly 60% in
finish. The barrel has a throat erosion of zero and a bore size of
.2990 that ran straight from chamber to muzzle. The mechanics were
sound. There was more wear on the gas plug than what was typical
of the kit in general. It is most likely a replacement plug. |

The rifle was assembled to look as it did when
issued. Furniture components were sanded and blasted to remove and
"soften" gouges and scratches. All parts were cleaned,
prepped and zinc phosphated after the barrel was timed and bolt
headspaced. The Imbel receiver required the following minor
adjustments:
-The bolt shelf was opened .005, .0025 per side.
-The lower portion of the extractor cutout was relieved .015 for
clearance.
-The receiver side walls were lapped with the bolt carrier to eliminate
binding in the travel.
The rifle headspaced with a .2685 shoulder lock resulting in a 1.6320
chamber. The trigger spring was replaced due to a kink that
hindered consistent performance. The recoil tube had a dent that
was removed with a hardened mandrel. The forearm had excessive
play when installed. The handguard retaining ring was modified to
eliminate the play. The escutcheon threads were chased with a tap
to remove internal dents. The chamber was polished and the crown
re-cut to 11 degrees. All in all, the rifle assembled without any
problems.

Note: Rifle was sighted in at 25 yards and fine tuned at 100 yards
with Radway Green.
Current laws do not allow flash hider devices to be attached to a
detachable magazine fed semiautomatic rifle. There are also
restrictions on imported firearms and parts concerning protruding pistol
grips. Please verify the laws concerning legal configuration of
your firearm.
